About San Pancho

San Francisco, better known affectionately to everyone as San Pancho, is not your typical small fishing village.  It enjoys the services of a regional hospital located in town and the benefits of city water and sewage promoted by a former  Mexican president.  In addition to these services, San Pancho offers one of the most pristine beaches along the Pacific Coast.

San Pancho is also proud to host several gourmet restaurants, many colorful breakfast and lunch spots, and excellent taco stands.

In addition to numerous clothing, craft and art shops along the village's newly paved main street, visitors and residents alike can enjoy watching soccer matches on an impressively groomed athletic field in town or watching polo matches from the viewing stand at the local polo field one block away.

Another exciting activity is whale watching right from the beach in San Pancho during the annual migration from December through March.

At the end of the main street is the Malecon, with an expansive and colorful hand-painted mural depicting the town's history. Huitchol Indians sell their beautiful beaded artwork and jewelry along with other local artisans who sell a variety of goods.

As for places to stay, there are numerous choices of accommodations in San Pancho, from an Eco Lodge  (www.tailwindoutdoor.com) in  the jungle to luxurious rental homes in the village.
